Overview
Ryan helps clients navigate legal and business issues involving technology, artificial intelligence, intellectual property and data.
As an associate in Fredrikson’s Technology & Data Group, Ryan advises clients on technology transactions and related commercial matters. His practice includes drafting and negotiating software and Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements, advising on the procurement and use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, and addressing intellectual property, data, privacy and cybersecurity considerations that arise in technology transactions.
Ryan takes a practical, business-focused approach to technology matters. He works to understand both the technology at issue and the business objectives behind a transaction, helping clients identify and address legal risks while keeping transactions moving toward their commercial objectives.
As technology continues to evolve, Ryan is particularly interested in helping clients navigate the emerging legal and commercial questions presented by artificial intelligence and other data-driven technologies. His work in this area includes advising on contractual arrangements involving AI-enabled products and services and the related intellectual property, data use, privacy and cybersecurity considerations.
