Contracts seem basic, but even our most experienced lawyers often find themselves wondering “should we agree to this indemnification provision?” or “why do all of these contracts require us to preserve records for CMS?” The act of including a term in the contract can be a multimillion-dollar error. This session will give very practical advice about terms we think should not be in a contract and those we often wish were included, but were missing.
There are many situations where a physician or other medical professional bill for service performed under their supervision. This session will explain when Medicare allows a physician or non-physician practitioner to bill for services performed “incident to” their work in the clinic and what is required to bill split/shared visits in a facility like a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
