The American Health Law Association (AHLA) has announced that Ryan S. Johnson, shareholder at Fredrikson, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Association to a five-year term, effective July 1, 2026. He was selected by AHLA's Nominating Committee and approved by the Board of Directors as part of the Association's 2026-2027 leadership slate.

A nationally recognized lawyer for health care innovation, Johnson serves as outside general counsel for digital health companies, health care providers and life sciences companies. He has contributed to AHLA as vice chair of the Life Sciences Practice Group and as vice chair of the HIT-Tech Licensing and Intellectual Property Affinity Group. He has spoken and written for AHLA on topics including health care innovation, digital health transactions and emerging regulatory frameworks. He co-chairs Fredrikson's Life Sciences Group. Johnson is recognized in Best Lawyers in America for Health Care Law, previously studied European health care innovation as a German Marshall Fund Memorial Fellow and is a member of the Planetary Society’s Advisory Council.
