Hey Vibe Coders: Don't accidentally violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by generating inaccessible websites, apps, and tools.
I'm thrilled by the rise of tools like Replit, LOVABLE, ClaudeCode and Base44. But I've also seen these AI tools produce websites, apps and other products that fail to provide an accessible digital experience to blind and other disabled users. When developing and coding, remember to design for digital accessibility and ADA compliance.
For example, PepsiCo recently agreed to pay $270,000 to resolve a charge by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) that Pepsi failed to provide a blind worker with accessible digital tools.
And when you're done, test and check your work, including for conformance with the WCAG guidelines. This can expand your audience and save you hundreds of thousands of dollars.
